Marcus Smith, the Creative Director at Insomniac, has stated in an interview with GQ Magazine: “We own the IP and there’s nothing really stopping us other than we have a lot of really exciting things in our future.” This means that, after the acquisition by Sony, Insomniac is well within its rights to develop a sequel to the beloved title for the PlayStation 5. What originally started as an odd tweet by the official Fizzie account has resulted in a whole lot of excitement among the Sunset Overdrive community. All of this has culminated in fans asking, “Sunset Overdrive 2, when?” It just so happens that the Fizzie account is back in action while the official Insomniac Games account has tweeted out an image of Fizzie.
